Presented by Shruti Nath, Post-Doctoral researcher, Department of Physics, University of Oxford and Masilin Gudoshava, Climate Modelling Expert, IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre
Shruti Nath
Shruti Nath has a background in mathematics and specialises in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence based approaches for modelling chaotic processes such as weather. She has previously worked on developing climate model emulators for agile exploration of climate scenarios. Her current work focuses on development of AI-based postprocessing methods for rainfall forecasting, as well as assessing their computational scalability.
Masilin Gudoshava
Masilin is a Climate Modeling Expert at the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC) in Nairobi, Kenya. Her work primarily involves sub-seasonal to seasonal forecasting with a particular interest in producing tailored forecasts that cater to the specific needs of various climate-sensitive sectors, such as agriculture, health and disaster management. Her role also involves collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that the forecasts are practical, relevant, and effectively utilized.
